Matt Dalton - Indiana University (Bloomington)

Matthew Dalton has spent his entire legal career representing people charged with crimes. After graduating from law school in 1997, Mr. Dalton was one of five young lawyers nationwide selected for the prestigious E. Barrett Prettyman Fellowship at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. There, he represented indigent criminal defendants charged with everything from drug sales to murder. At the same time, Mr. Dalton taught criminal defense trial advocacy at Georgetown University.

Mr. Dalton returned to California where he worked as a public defender for over 11 years in Marin and Alameda Counties. During that time, Mr. Dalton tenaciously represented well over a thousand people charged with misdemeanors like driving under the influence and theft, and felonies such as embezzlement, drug trafficking and possession, domestic violence, sex crimes, and murder. Mr. Dalton has successfully tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases. Mr. Dalton prides himself on zealously advocating and fighting for his clients.

Mr. Dalton grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He received his J.D. at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1997. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Indiana University, Bloomington.
