Greg Ahern has lived in Alameda County his entire life and has served at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office since 1980. In 2006 he was elected Sheriff and is currently up for re-election. He was actively involved in the development and implementation of several programs to benefit the community and to provide tactical training to thousands of law enforcement personnel and first responders. His impressive career history and achievements as a Sheriff include efforts to increase public safety, reduce criminality and prevent recidivism among rehabilitated inmates. Mark Shaiken had an outstanding career in bankruptcy law, practicing in 5 states over the course of 38 years. He has been a partner at a large bankruptcy firm before becoming an author and writing two books with a third one on the way.
